Course Objectives:

  2. Enhance flexibility, coordination, and rhythm.
  3. Understand the history and cultural significance of different dance forms.
  4. Master choreography techniques and stage performance skills.
  5. Prepare students for professional opportunities in the dance industry.

Dance Course Outline

 Course Title: Mastering the Art of Dance: Comprehensive Training for Aspiring Dancers


Course Duration: 6 months (extendable to 1 year for advanced modules)


Target Audience: Beginners to intermediate-level dancers, aged 15 and above. No prior experience required.

Dance Course Modules

 

1. Foundation in Dance (1 month)

  • Basics of body alignment and posture.
  • Warm-up and stretching exercises.
  • Introduction to rhythm and beats.
  • Fundamentals of body isolation.


2. Dance Styles and Techniques (3 months)

2.1 Classical Dance Forms (1 month)

  • Bharatanatyam / Kathak basics.
  • Ballet fundamentals.
  • Cultural significance and expressions.

2.2 Contemporary Dance Forms (1 month)

  • Contemporary technique and flow.
  • Jazz and lyrical dance basics.
  • Improvisation and storytelling through movement.


2.3 Urban and Street Dance (1 month)

  • Hip-hop fundamentals (popping, locking, breaking).
  • Street jazz and freestyle.
  • Exploring individuality in urban dance.


3. Choreography and Performance (2 months)

  • Principles of choreography.
  • Group synchronization and formations.
  • Solo and group performance preparation.
  • Stage presence and audience engagement.
  • Costume and makeup basics for dancers.


4. Specialization Module (Optional - 1 month)

  • Students choose a style to specialize in and create a final project.
  • Opportunities to collaborate with peers or showcase solo work.
